Origin or Natural Habitat:
Plum Headed Parakeet / Parrot originate from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and can be found in other East Asian Countries. Their natural habitat is forest and woodlands.

Care:
It’s optimal to have wide cage with 1/4 inch bar spacing, for enough space to play. Minimum cage size is 36 inches length, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches height. Filled Food & Water bowls are needed 24/7 for the bird to stay healthy and hydrated. Toys are a must and treats for the bird to be happy.

Diet:
Seeds, Pellets, Fruits, and Vegetables shall all be provided 24/7 & be balanced. Cuttle Bone must provided for calcium and vitamin blocks for vitamins. Also water soluble vitamins are optimal, such as the brand Nekton.

Gender Differentiation:
(Adults over +24-36 months are Dimorphic, Juveniles from 13-23 months are Homomorphic, and Babies from 3-12 months are Homomorphic). When Plum Headed Parakeet / Parrots reach sexual maturity at +24-36 months of age the Male head becomes pink and the Female head becomes blue/purple. Also the Male gains a black & turquoise ring around neck and collar, while Female gains a yellow ring around neck and collar.
