The second dimorphic indication is Males face or spot on face can become brighter, while Females face or spot on face can become duller. Third dimorphic indication being back pattern. A example is Pearly Pied mutation Males lose full patterning on back, while Pearly Pied Females stay the same as age progresses into maturity. To differentiate Male and Female homomorphic mutation Cockatiels there are several indications also. First homomorphic indication being pelvic checking. Males two pelvic bones can be very close together with a very small gap, while Females two pelvic bones can be wide open. Second homomorphic indication is vocalization, Males will be more vocal especially when maturity is reached and Females will be more timid in vocalization. Third homomorphic indication is personality, Males can have a more confident personality and Females can have a more timid personality. Absolutely thrilled about the sweet baby boy I got from here! I came across them initially searching for a rosey bourke parakeet, and decided to go with a cockatiel instead, when I saw they have them too! I live an hour or so away but opted to have him shipped because i didn’t have a way of getting there in person. I Facetimed with them first and they handle their birds with so much love and care, and are very informative! After I placed my order he shipped out 2 business days later and arrived in about 24 hours after the fact. He’s healthy, beautiful, and is acclimating well to his new home. I’d recommend this place to any of my bird-loving friends and will come back in the future if I’m looking for another member of the flock!
